About Me
My name is Maeridith Guy. I am a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (CNP- Q). I’m committed to helping youth, adults, and families find calm, clarity, and confidence through life’s ups and downs.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Nursing Degree from Cape Breton University, a Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Dalhousie University and I have been a Registered Nurse for 7 years. I have years of experience working in inpatient and outpatient mental health services and I am a child and youth Clinical Therapist in the public health care system. Whether you or your child are facing anxiety, depression, relational challenges, obsessive compulsive disorder, or struggling with life transitions, I use an evidence based, holistic and individualized approach to help you navigate mental health challenges and enhance your overall wellbeing. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and informed by attachment theory, emotion focused therapy and dialectical behavioural therapy. I offer Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and CBT for Selective Mutism. My goal is to provide clients and families with a safe, trauma-informed space where you can explore your thoughts, reconnect with your strengths, reach your goals and create meaningful change. I offer in-person sessions in Sydney as well as virtual sessions across Nova Scotia.
I know that reaching out for support isn’t easy. It can feel scary, uncomfortable and overwhelming. I believe in meeting people where they are —no judgment, no pressure—just real conversation and support, at your own pace.
